Job Purpose: As earthmoving machine customers increasingly are facing environmental regulations and commercial pressures to use machines that reduce emissions beyond the strictest diesel emissions standards, the Earthmoving Division must be proactive in developing new machines with ground-breaking fuel efficiency or zero emissions. This position is focused on concepting electric propulsion and implement systems for the Earthmoving Division. The Earthmoving Product Groups have defined Multi-Generation Product Plans (MGPP’s) which, to the extent possible, forecast what type of electric prime-mover is envisioned to meet upcoming customer demand. In terms of ground-breaking fuel efficiency (carbon footprint reduction), this would include diesel-electric systems. For zero emissions the primarily envisioned energy source is battery, but the hydrogen fuel cell remains a potential energy source. Job Duties and Expectations: The selected candidate is not necessarily expected to have previous experience in electric powertrain. They will spend a period (up to a year) working under direction of an Integrated Drivetrain Technical Lead on various enterprise L5 electric drive projects. This training will allow them to come into an EMD Product Group equipped to concept and architect EMD L5 electric machine systems. Beyond internal training, the candidate will need to explore and build an up-to-date grasp of industry electric drivetrain technology and competitor landscape. Effective communication and collaboration with a multi-discipline team will be essential for success. Upfront communication with product group to define and reach consensus on system requirements and regular report outs will require effective preparing and presenting in meetings. The person in this position will make recommendations that will have significant impact on financial performance for Earthmoving Division. 1. Maintain and improve Process in terms of Reliability and robust, to monitor and guarantee control point, parameter, key equipment/fixtures, SO&OS under control. 2. Provide daily Workshop technical support to fix disorder related to safety, quality, and efficiency issues. 3. Study capacity and capability of production line, to provide improve or evolution plan to management people as company business needs. 4. Plan and execute annual investment plan, provide technical supports to other functions. 5. Involve in Supplier scouting activities, to evaluate technical needs and supplier competence and put forward the technical opinion for new supplier validation 6. Deal with quality issue both inside and outside, workout technical solution to fix quality issue 7. Maintain and optimize the layout to get the best efficiency of space and material flow. 8. Support maintenance people to deal with equipment issue. 9. Specify prod, specify machine, WI 10. Optimization of the RM scrap 11. Track the status of the production fixture and tools, make sure all are in good condition. 12. Coordinate the CI affair in products line level, to leader the kaizen project 13. Prepare and submit the Annual cost reduction projects, and carry out the projects to meet with company CRP goal. Other task assigned by superiors.
